Journal: Loneliness in the Modern Age

In the modern age, we make new advances all of the time. We find new ways to make connections among our friends and from people all around the world. As much as it can help, these new connections are not the same. While we all have the entire world at our fingertips, and have the ability to call the other side of the planet with one click, we have isolated ourselves. Juveniles have increasing issues with their social skills, because they are not able to connect with others face to face. They rely on their social media and technology. This makes them stand alone. Without having connections in real life and only on a screen, we cannot truly have strong relationships. We have forgotten how to speak to others without technology and now, we keep to ourselves. In this hyper connected world, we are not together. We stand alone, glued to our devices, unable to look up long enough to keep up a lengthy conversation to create true connections.
